Nigeria past and present leaders have explanation to offer about the declining nature of productivity in our country. They have failed to empower its citizens, precisely the youths in all ramifications to be self productive. Instead they have resorted to using our youths as political thugs and stooges in achieving their political ambition.
It is truism to to say that in Nigeria, the only time our leaders embark on a programme of empowering the citizens through skill acquisition is when they are campaigning for a political post that needs the votes of the citizens. Impliedly, they the leaders tends to abandon those people to their detriment as no financial, intelligence or any form of assistance is given to those trainees to start up and actualize the skills they learnt.
Furthermore, the non self reliant prevailing among the already existing entrepreneurs in Nigeria and among our leaders and citizens. Certainly there is no gain saying that Nigerians prefer mostly to buy and use foreign products while underestimating and neglecting the our locally made goods. Our leaders on the other hands, travel out of the country to receive medical treatment, while they claim that our medical facilities are well equipped annually. This clearly shows that they are not confident about our nation and that they know quite alright that Nigerians don't have much to offer.
However, until Nigeria leaders builds a strong economic foundation on the platform of productive capacity, empowering and encouraging more of entrepreneurs among its citizens, providing basic amenities necessary for its implementation and minimizing Nigeria importation rate, and the citizens patronizing "Made in Nigeria goods" Nigeria will always be the final destination of all kinds of importated goods. We will lay prostrate and consume all that is consumable.
